Democratic Party (DP) president Norbert Mao seems to have got over his poor performance. Mao came fifth after gathering 57,682 votes representing. 0.56%.

The two-time presidential candidate says that it’s a farfetched dream for him to give up on contesting for the country’s top job. He vows that he will stand and contest for presidency till he emerges victor.

Mao explains that he has no other plan of taking up the country’s top office as he will only take it through elections.

“I am a lawyer and I therefore respect the rule of law and it’s the reason as to why I don’t want my countrymen to ever shed blood again because of certain people who want to take power by force,” says Mao.

Mao urges the opposition to get a common voice to stop the usual bickering amongst themselves. He says that some opposition groups think they are too big to sit on the same table with other opposition parties.

“As DP we call that Kamanyiro which won’t work and it’s the reason as to why we don’t gather with such people at their frequent meetings,” he says.
