Soccer has become one of the most lucrative fields that for different reasons young people tend to drop out of school to pursue their footballing careers considering that many come from backgrounds of poverty.

With the success of the Uganda Cranes and popularity of footballers like Denis Onyango and Farouk Miya, it’s no wonder that the love for soccer has grown in Uganda and many talented soccer players are dreaming to emulate them. However, their passion for sports is coming at the cost of them dropping out of school since they cannot afford education.

Nonetheless education is generally a key factor in dictating a person’s success off the football pitch, especially after retirement since on average footballers retire at the age of 35 years.
