Bobi Wine blocked from taking petition to CDF Muhoozi, whisked away in police vehicle

National Unity Platform (NUP) president Bobi Wine real name Robert Kyagulanyi has been intercepted by police at his party headquarters in Kamwokya.

Bobi Wine was from addressing a presser where he disclosed that he was set to drive to the Uganda People’s Defense Force (UPDF) headquarters in Mbuya and deliver his petition to the Chief of Defense Forces (CDF), Gen. David Muhoozi.

In his petition, Bobi Wine is demanding for the unconditional release of his supporters who are in different army dentitions.

A heavy security deployment surrounded the party headquarters and he was diverted from his office, put into a police vehicle and whisked away to unknown destination.

The NUP leader together with other party officials were yesterday arrested at City Square and taken to CPS before some of them were driven by police to their respective homes. The group was holding a demonstration condemning the continued detention of their colleagues.
