In his last national address about COVID-19, President Yoweri Museveni denied reports indicating that him together with members of his inner circle were offered COVID-19 vaccines. He claimed that he was still thinking of which COVID-19 vaccine to take.

Don Wanyama, the presidential press secretary has revealed that Museveni will take the Covid-19 vaccine jab this morning at State House, Nakasero. He will take the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine.

Yesterday the Prime Minister Ruhakana Rugunda, Deputy Prime Minister Gen Moses Ali, Members of Parliament and other top government officials received their first jabs of the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine.

The Ministry of Health which is in charge of the vaccination disclosed that they are in the process of accrediting private health facilities to provide COVID-19 vaccination. It said that the list of these facilities will be provided once an understanding has been reached and a memorandum of understanding has been signed spelling out the modalities of the collaboration.

The ministry started the roll out of COVID-19 vaccination on March 10 with Health workers and security personnel.
