Former Presidential candidate John Katumba has said that he’s living in fear even after the 2021 elections were concluded almost two months ago.

While appearing before the parliamentary committee on human rights together with fellow candidate Fred Mwesigye, Katumba explained how he’s very insecure as several attempts have been made to end his life. He said that just last week thugs broke into his house and made off with equipment that included; disks and several documents.

“I am still insecure. A few days back people broke into my house. If they did that then I am insecure,” he said.

According to Katumba, the attacks on him have made him feel like it was a crime to contest in the elections. He also disclosed how he can no longer eat from any place due to fear of being poisoned.

“I declined to eat snacks offered by this committee because I no longer trust anyone. I will also camouflage myself when going out to dodge my attackers,” he said.

The 24-year-old also told the committee that some of his supporters have been arrested by security persons using drones and have not been released.
