Renowned Senegalese-American musician and businessman AKON real name Aliaune Damala Badara Akon Thiam has this morning on Friday arrived in Uganda for a business visit according to the ministry of foreign affairs.

The 47-year-old global music star, who is also a songwriter and record producer, was received by a group of officials at Entebbe, including the Senior Presidential Advisor on Diaspora Affairs, Abbey Walusimbi, Uganda Tourism Ambassador Eddy Kenzo, Sheikh Ramadhan Mulindwa from the Uganda Muslim Supreme Council, and other government officials.

During his visit, Akon is expected to meet with President Yoweri Museveni to discuss different investment opportunities in various sectors, including energy, tourism, and infrastructure development’, the ministry said.
