American rap artist and singer Akon whose real name is Aliaune Thiam has described President Museveni as a father figure to Africa who is working very hard towards the development of the African continent.

Akon arrived in Uganda yesterday to attend Museveni’s inauguration though he did not make it to Kololo as he followed the event at Entebbe VIP Lounge.

According to Akon, Museveni is a Pan Africanist whose mission is to unite the continent for better fortunes.

“Museveni is a great role model for Africa. He has motivation for future progress of Africa,” said Akon.

He congratulated Museveni for taking oath of his sixth term in office before asking God to bless his new term.

Last month Akon visited Uganda in search of investment opportunities that would extend his business footprint in Africa. He plans to build ‘Akon City’ in Uganda.

Akon and his wife, Rozina Negusei, met with Museveni and discussed different investment opportunities in various sectors, including energy, tourism, and infrastructure development.
