Following a failed attempt to end General Katumba Wamala’s life, Hakim Kasibante the boda boda man who rushed him to a nearby clinic, Malcom Health Center, for first aid to control the bleeding from the bullet wounds he had sustained, has said that he doesn’t need any reward.

While speaking to Matooke Republic, Kasibante said that he is a true Muslim who helped the general out of goodwill.

“I am a Muslim and the Quran teaches us that we must be compassionate because everyone is a special creation of Allah. Giving to charity and helping others are considered good deeds and there should be no expectation of anything in return. Charity is not just about giving money but it involves helping others, so I don’t need to be rewarded. Allah will reward me I believe,” said Kasibante.

Kasibante said that he had never met Gen Katumba face to face until Tuesday. He added that he rushed him to the hospital because no one was willing to help.

He also narrated how he hid in a nearby bush when he heard the gunshots before riding towards the car after the situation had calmed down.

“I heard gunshots that lasted for about four minutes. Immediately, I heard these gunshots, I hid in a nearby bush until they stopped. I saw General Katumba coming from under his car. He immediately looked in his car and on seeing his lifeless daughter who had succumbed to gunshots, he became very weak and looked confused. He was crying and the only thing he kept saying was, ‘My daughter, my daughter,” Kasibante narrates.

Kasibante also explained how Gen. Katumba  was hesitant to get onto his motorcycle due fear but later accepted and he rode him together with his bodyguard.
