Uganda receives an additional 175,000 COVID-19 vaccine doses

Yesterday night, Uganda received an additional 175,000 doses of Astrazeneca vaccine. This is the third batch of Covid Vaccines to be delivered to Uganda. The vaccines were donated to Uganda by the French government through COVAX facility.

According to the Ministry of Health Spokesperson Ainebyoona Emmanuel vaccination will continue next week and priority will be given to people waiting for their second dose.

Sheila Nduhukire, the National Medical Stores spokesperson said their trucks picked the vaccines from the airport for safe storage.

 “The vaccines are now in the safe hands of NMS and security. Doses will be stored for onward distribution across the country,” she said.
