KCCA wants Gov’t to send Shs252,000 to each vulnerable person

The Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) political and technical wings have unanimously agreed to come up with joint measures aimed at curbing the spread of COVID-19 and treatment of the sick.

In a virtual meeting attended by KCCA Executive Director Dorothy Kisaka, Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago, Division Urban Mayors for Nakawa and Makindye Kasirye Nganda, Lubaga and Kampala Central, Salim Uhuru, they resolved that that ED Kisaka prepares a Covid-19 response budget for all the operations which will help facilitate the Local Leaders who are going to carry out sensitization.

The leaders also agreed that government should send Shs252,000 to each person in a poor homestead at a minimum of sh6000 per day if plans to send support to vulnerable groups through Mobile Money are effected.

 The meeting also agreed that 800 vaccination sites be set up in the city for the Covid-19 campaign vaccination in liaison with the Ministry of Health.

Lukwago revealed that the KCCCA fleet has been boosted to 18 Ambulances and a Toll-Free line for Emergencies is 0800990000 and WhatsApp 0792310927.
