The group has been charged with one count of Terrorism, two counts of murder of Nantogo Brenda Katumba and SGT Haruna Kayondo and two counts of attempted murder of Gen Katumba Wamala and Sgt Khalid Kuboit.

The suspects appeared to be in much pain as they displayed marks of torture all over their bodies. Their lawyer Geoffrey Turyamusiima asked court to release them to secure treatment. However, presiding Chief Magistrate, Singiza informed Turyamusiima that he had no jurisdiction to make such orders other than remanding the suspects and ordering prison authorities at Kitalya to make sure they get examined and treated. The group was remanded to Kitalya until August 3.
