Katwe Police is investigating a suspected suicide that was reported on Wednesday by residents of Najjanankumbi II, Masanyalaze zone in Rubaga Division, Kampala City suburb.

The deceased has been identified as Geoffrey Dickson Kasiita aged 35, a boda boda rider in the area. According to residents, Kasiita’s lifeless body was found hanging at the door of his rented house.

One of the residents disclosed that Kasiita might have committed suicide due to frustration as his landlord threatened to evict him from the house due to failure to clear rent fees.

Kampala Metropolitan Police Deputy Spokesperson Luke Owoyesigyire confirmed the incident as he said their officers responded to the crime scene and the body was picked and taken to KCCA mortuary at Mulago Hospital for post-mortem to ascertain the exact cause of his death.
