In a letter dated September 13 from Julius Twinomujuni, acting on behalf of the director, criminal investigations, the CID ordered Mbayo to appear at CID headquarters Kibuli on September 15, 2021, before acting Commissioner of Police Economic Crime and Financial intelligence for a statement in respect of the said investigation.

However, the Luuka district Member of Parliament did not appear at the headquarters as she claims that she had traveled abroad.

She also said that she was summoned by an officer at the CID, but she told the officer that she should be summoned through the Speaker, but the officer said that this was an old practice that used to happen and now this has changed.

To date, Mbayo is yet to appear to record her statement.
