With Covidex receiving positive reviews in the fight against the Covid 19 pandemic, the Ugandan Pavilion at the ongoing Dubai Expo has attracted mixed reactions for not displaying the celebrated drug.

Dr. Patrick Engeu Ogwang the man behind the innovation tweeted on how he missed the opportunity to showcase the drug.

The Mbarara University of Science and Technology professor seems to be disgruntled by the fact that opportunity has not been availed for the product to be showcased at the ongoing Dubai expo.

He took to his twitter and wrote, “I am happy that Covidex has suppressed covid in Uganda. I missed the opportunity to showcase at the Dubai Expo.”

The very sentiments seemed to be shared by a host of other tweeps, notable among them, NBS journalist, Canary Mugume. He tweeted, “We missed an opportunity to tell the rest of the world about COVIDEX at the expo. Maybe there were Lato of things, we couldn’t find space for it. Pun intended.”

However, certain tweeps were quick to retaliate. A one Magezi Kiriinju tweeted, “Don’t mess with a cynic, you would be one castigating Uganda for showcasing Covidex at an expo in the middle of a raging pandemic instead of cashing in on this high demand for a covid 19 cure or reliever or preventer. But you are entitled to curse not being able to attend.”

While a section of people are patriotically regretting as to why the remedy was not showcased in Dubai, some seem to have alternative opinions.
