Following the recent explosions, the Leader of Opposition Hon. Mathias Mpuuga has advised the public to desist from being used by the State.

“The public should desist from being used by the State in Ignorance. We, however, guide the public to cooperate with security when they have information,” Hon. Mpuuga.

He also said that they (Opposition) expect proper investigations from the security forces.

“We expect nothing but proper investigations and sharing with the citizens when they need to know about the security situation,” said Hon. Mpuuga.

While commenting on the continued detention of his colleagues Hon. Muhammad Ssegirinya and Hon. Ssewanyana, Mpuuga said that they are exploiting every legal process available.

“We have asked our attorney in the case of our colleagues, Hon. Ssegirinya and Hon. Ssewanyana to exploit every legal process available to see that our friends see justice,” said Hon. Mpuuga.

He also said that President Museveni addressed the August house on a list of measures aimed at maintaining peace in the country and demands the Head of State to return to Parliament to give them a scorecard.

“President Museveni addressed Parliament and gave a long list of measures aimed at maintaining peace in the country. We demand that the President returns to Parliament to offer a scorecard of these measures,” said Hon. Mpuuga.
