Former Uganda Cranes goalkeeper Denis Onyango has proved that he’s still Africa’s finest after saving five penalties in the shootout to help his side, Mamelodi Sundowns defeat Cape Town City to win the 2021 MTN8.

Yesterday the two sides battled in the final and at the end of extra time, the game was still at 1-all hence heading into a penalty shootout.

Such a heroic performance has made him the second goalkeeper in the world to save five penalties in the same game.

In 2020, Daniel Batz became the first goalkeeper to save five penalties in the same game. He saved a penalty during the 90 minutes against Fortuna Dusseldorf and saved another 4 in the shootout of the DFB-Pokal Cup.
