A letter from Minister for Relief, Disaster Preparedness, and Refugees Hilary Onek has today made rounds on social media where the minister complained about Prime Minister Robinah Nabbanja usurping the powers of his office.

Onek said that since Nabbanja was appointed into office, he has been observing her with total displeasure as she intentionally took up their roles as a ministry.

“This is quite evident by the way you have been calling for meetings, going for disaster-affected places, and visiting refugee settlements without informing my office or that of my deputy,” reads a letter in part.

Speaking to journalists at parliament this evening, Nabbanja said that she’s yet to receive the letter.

“If the minister decided to address me through social media then that’s different; he’s indisciplined. I am waiting for the letter. Our offices are near each other,” said Nabbanja.

She however disclosed that they have had a number of meetings that Minister Onek misses sometimes.

“I told you on the onset of my term of office that we shall not allow laziness,” she said.
