Fr Emmanuel Kiyemba, the parish priest of St Joseph Busunju in Kiyinda-Mityana Diocese has appealed to authorities to bring to justice the suspects that attacked them.

In August this year, panga-wielding thugs attacked and robbed Busunju parish. The thugs injured priests and nuns before taking off with different items that included; laptops, phones, TVs, and cash Shs20m.

The parish together with the locals and police conducted a search where five suspects were arrested.

Speaking during the thanksgiving mass at the home of Bonny Kamoga at Ssekanyonyi town, Fr Kiyemba said the suspects were netted with ‘overwhelming’ evidence but to their shock, some of them have been unconditionally released by police.

“One of them owned a car and had an army uniform. He is now a threat to us because we fear him,” said Fr Kiyemba.

He appealed to the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Justice Ministry to intervene in their matter.
