Famous Ugandans who have welcomed babies in 2021

We are left with one month and a few days to end the year 2021 and thus far, some Ugandan famous faces have welcomed new babies.

Like in recent years, 2021 has also witnessed a sizeable number of Ugandan popular people who have had their status elevated to that of mothers and fathers.

Some of these popular faces happily posted their new babies at the moment of arrival. After singer Rema Namakula welcomed her second child on Sunday, Matooke Republic has compiled a list of new famous Ugandan mothers and fathers so far this year.

Rema Namakula

Rema welcomed her first baby with Hamza Ssebunya on Sunday 7th November 2021, two years after their wedding.
The couple who got married in 2018, named their newborn girl Aaliya Ssebunya
The singer is among the few who took fans by surprise after she broke the news of giving birth on her social media platforms. “07.11.2021 Ma sha Allah,” Rema posted
The Sili Muyembe singer who became a mother of two broke up with the musician Eddy Kenzo the father of her first child, and got married to Dr. Hamza Ssebunya in 2019.

Joel Ssenyonyi

On 13 October 2021 Febress Nagawa a wife to the NUP Spokesperson and Nakawa West Mp Joel Ssenyonyi gave birth to a baby girl.

The news was confirmed by Ssenyonyi as he took to Twitter to announce the exciting news saying, “Welcome to the world my baby girl Gianna (Gianna means God is gracious). Indeed, Katonda yabadde mweno ensonga,”

Ssenyonyi and Nagawa got married in June 2020 and their wedding was at the centre of the spotlight.

Vinka

Swangz Avenue singer Veronica Luggya better known as Vinka welcomed her first child a baby girl on Tuesday 19th January 2021.

Although other celebrities like Rema among others happily posted about their new babies at the moment of arrival, Vinka kept the news as a juicy surprise for her fans and followers.

MP. Francis Zaake

In August 2021, Mityana Municipality Member of Parliament and National Unity Platform member, Francis Zaake, welcomed a new member into their family after his wife Bridget Namirembe gave birth.

Zaake welcomed his third born with a social media post while he was in Istanbul, Turkey, hunting for NUP supporter Fred Lumbuye.

In his post, Francis expressed joy that yet another life had been added to the Zaake name.

“Overjoyed to yet again welcome a new life added to our family. Woke up to amazing news of our newborn. Glory to God that both mum and the baby are in perfect shape and everything has been a success,” Zaake posted.

Zaake and his wife Namirembe are not officially married but have three kids together.

Prince Wasajja

The Buganda Kingdom Prince David Wasajja, Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi’s brother, and wife Marion Nankya Wasajja in October 2021 welcomed a third born in their family at Nakasero Hospital in Kampala.

The couple welcomed their firstborn in 2014, second born in 2016, and third born in October this year got married in 2013 at Rubaga Cathedral.

Bobi Wine’s younger brother, Dax Vibez

Ivan Bugembe Sentamu, alias Dax Vibez, a singer and young brother to former presidential candidate Kyagulanyi Robert Ssentamu alias Bobi Wine in March 2021 his girlfriend gave birth to a bouncing baby boy.

The good news was revealed by Dax Vibes himself through his official social media platforms to celebrate the arrival of his son.

“Wow I am now a father, it’s a boy! It has been by the power of the almighty and I now respect women a million times more,” Dax Vibez posted.

Uganda Cranes forward Paul Mucureezi 

In January 2021, Uganda Cranes forward Paul Mucureezi together with his wife Esther Khainga Swabale welcomed their first child together, a baby boy. 

The baby boy was named Adlai Mucureezi Bwanahoro.
The 28-year-old Mucureezi who plays for Vipers SC in the Uganda Premier League wedded Swabale in August 2020 in a scientific event at St Francis chapel Makerere. The event happened just a week after Swabale introduced Mucureezi to her parents in Mukono.
