Kira Municipality Member of Parliament, Ssemujju Nganda has indicated that he will go back to doing his professional job of Journalism when their struggle is over and President Yoweri Museveni is out of power.

Ssemujju has been MP since 2011 and he’s currently serving his third term as the representative of Kira Municipality in parliament.

He graduated in 1998 with a Bachelor of Arts in mass communication. Straight out of Makerere, he was hired as a reporter for the Daily Monitor, serving in that role until 2004. In 2004, he left the Daily Monitor to join The Observer, both as a reporter and as a shareholder. He was assigned the role of political editor at the Weekly Observer, serving in that role until 2011 when he joined active politics.

“When we remove Museveni, I can go back to my professional job, Journalism,” Ssemujju said while appearing on the NBS Barometer show.

According to Ssemujju, the aim of their People’s Front for Transition is to put in place a transition government in case Museveni leaves power.

“We have to prepare for Transition because Museveni must go.

The struggle to liberate Uganda doesn’t have to stop until we have liberated the country. This is like chasing a thief. The alarm must not stop,” he said.

“Our aim is to remove Museveni. Whatever comes next is up to the people of Uganda,” he added.
