Controversial lawyer Male Mabirizi has been fined Shs300 million for abusing a judge. The fine has been given by Kampala High Court Judge Musa Ssekaana after he found Mabirizi in contempt of Court over his comments he posted on his social media platforms while contesting Justice Phillip Odoki’s handling of the dismissed case he filed against MTN and Capital Markets Authority. while casting presiding judge Phillip Odoki to give a ruling in his favour.

“This court cannot continue to be in a ‘mute mode’ as the authority of court is under attack. Such attacks on judicial officers should be condemned in the strongest terms since they have become ‘endangered species’ by social media and usually they can not defend themselves,” reads the court ruling in part.
