Police at Katwe has summoned singer Hajjara Namukwaya better known as Spice Diana over the murder of a 27-year-old casual labourer who was beaten at her home and later died at Mulago Hospital.

Police say that on June 30, the deceased Henry Nsamba climbed a wall fence at the home of Spice Diana with the intention of stealing.

But before he could make off with anything, Spice’s security guard apprehended him and threw him outside the compound.

However, when Nsamba was thrown out of the compound, he was immediately attacked by the locals who assailed him with bricks, among other things, which caused him grievous bodily harm.

The police arrived at the scene and rushed him to Mulago Hospital, where he died.

The Kampala Metropolitan Deputy Police Spokesperson Luke Owoyesigire confirmed the incident, saying “investigations are underway to establish the cause of the death of the suspected robber and the people who carried out mob justice, causing his demise.”

He further condemned the act of citizens taking the law into their own hands, saying that the police will quickly establish the circumstances under which Nsamba died and how he managed to scale the singer’s wall.

The singer has not shared any information regarding the incident, which occurred in Ngobe zone, Bunamwaya, Wakiso district, where she lives.
