National Unity Platform (NUP) coordinator, Moses Bigirwa, has expressed his frustration against his party and leaders for failing to contribute to his forthcoming wedding.

Bigirwa, who claims that his “rank” in NUP is equivalent to the rank of fallen bush war soldier, General Elly Tumwine, as he claims to have kicked started the struggle, said that his efforts to get contributions from his party leaders for his wedding have been futile.

Bigiriwa believes that there is segregation within the party.

“I have understood people are not the same in the party. My party has contributed to the ceremonies of Joel Ssenyonyi, Nubian Li, and Francis Zaake, among others, but they have refused to help me out, “he said.

However, he noted that he has refrained from asking for help from the party and has decided to cut his budget.

“My introduction and wedding were supposed to cost Shs95m, but now I have cut it,’ he said.

Bigirwa however, noted that despite the lack of support from the party, he has invited them to his function.

Meanwhile, last year, Bigirwa was arrested for allegedly trying to extort Shs100 million from the Speaker of Parliament, Anita Among.
