City disc jockey cum artiste Selecta Jef has positioned himself as the future of DJ and artiste collaborations by not only the nature of his work but also the caliber of collaborations he aims for.
Selecta’s synopsis is clear, ‘Stupid’ with Fik Fameica, ‘Tip’ with John Blaq and the Bantu vibes and not forgetting one of the biggest anthems of 2021, ‘Boy Fire’ with superstar Sheebah Karungi.

Selecta Jef has started 2021 with a much more polished script, collaborating with Nigerian superstar King Perry on rising star, Tarley’s new party anthem, ‘Chop Life’.
Selecta raises the bar in this new collaboration with King Perry given the magnitude of Perry’s celebrity.

Perry boasts of an illustrious catalogue that features top notch collaborations with Nigeria’s upper musical echelon, that include continental banger, ‘Murder’ with fellow superstar ‘Teni’.
Perry has also collaborated with A-listers, Phyno, Timaya, Mayorkun, Kizz Daniels among many others. Perry has also enlisted services of top continental video gurus such as TG Omori and Clarence Peters.

‘Chop Life’ is produced by long time Selecta Jef collaborator Axon who lays down an instrumental that is a hybrid of a laid-back Afro-beat and an easy-going dancing tempo.
Tarley announces himself, rises to the occasion, as he celebrates life, living and letting loose, thus the title, ‘Chop Life’. Tarley brings the prize home when he intersperses his pidgin intonations with some Luganda words and lilts.

King Perry does not disappoint as he rises to center stage to do the chorus which is a rollercoaster of vibes and good energy.
Shot by Aaronaire, the video goes back and forth amongst the three musketeers, Perry, Jef and the mastermind behind the song, Tarley, in a kaleidoscope of cars, beautiful women, excess and American currency.
It indeed is the good life, and they indeed do chop it.
Incredible effort.
