Dancehall icon and legend Clifford Smith, who is better known as, Mr Vegas, has come out to offer his two cents on the ongoing global tensions and concerns.

In a short but heavily laden tweet, Mr Vegas seemed not to be pleased with the ongoing global concern about the escalating tensions between Russia and Ukraine.

According to the dancehall icon, the world is acting hypocritically since atrocities of the same nature have happened on the African continent and the world kept silent about it.

He mentioned atrocities committed in Nigeria, Uganda, Dafur and Mali. Mr Vegas shared these reservations on his official Twitter page.

“The whole fucking world stayed silent on the atrocities in Uganda, Nigeria, Darfur, Mali…. Just remember that shit!” he tweeted.

The dancehall behemoth did not specify which exact atrocities he was referring to as being committed in Uganda, but it is however suspected he was addressing the previous oppression of opposition figures and supporters by the state.

Mr Vegas has actively been following the political trail in Uganda and has openly admitted to being a fan and sympathizer of NUP alpha-figure Bobi Wine.

He recently retweeted Bobi Wine’s update on the state torture of writer Kakwenza Rukirabashaija adding a caption that wished wicked souls eternal damnation.

He further extended his love to Bobi Wine on his birthday by retweeting his birthday address and quickly referring to him as the King of Africa.

Many Jamaican superstars have been sympathizers and supporters of the opposition in Uganda with many stars of global fame and repute such as Buju Banton airing their support for their efforts.
