Salary week: Uganda named among top ten African countries where employees are given very fat salaries

A new survey has revealed that Uganda is among the top 10 African countries with the highest average monthly salaries.

According to statistics compiled by Salary Explorer, a notable salary comparison and career resources website, Uganda is number 10 on the list, with an average salary of Shs2,620,000 which would convert to $738 per month.

Kenya is number four on the list, with people working in the country earning an average monthly income of Shs147,000 which converts to 1,291.

Top on the list is Morocco where the average monthly salary is DH 19,400. When converted to the dollar, this would be approximately $2,031.

South Africa is in the second spot, with workers there earning ZAR31,100 which is approximately $2,026.

Tunisia is in third, with workers reported taking home an average salary of TND 3,910 which converts to $1,348.

Algeria is in the fifth place where Algerians earn an average salary of DZD180,000 which converts to $1,273.

Sixth is Namibia where workers earn an average salary of ND17,400 which converts to $1,168.
