National Unity Platform (NUP) deputy spokesperson Alex Mufumbiro has said that Mityana Municipality MP Francis Zaake was not given an opportunity to be heard before the 160 members of parliament that voted and that rubbishes whatever was done in parliament while censuring him from office.

Speaking during an interview on NTV this morning, Mufumbiro said that as a party, Zaake was and is the right candidate to represent them in parliament’s rules and disciplinary committee.

“Hon Zaake will not apologise and we have made it clear as NUP that he still remains our commissioner.

He has been persecuted by the NRM regime for the last four years and even in parliament where he was given a duty to serve,” said Mufumbiro.

According to NUP, Zaake will be challenging his removal as a commissioner.
