A teenage gunman killed at least 19 children and two teachers after storming into a Texas elementary school on Tuesday.

The 18-year-old suspect, who was apparently killed by police, had also shot his own grandmother before fleeing from the scene, then crashing his getaway car and launching a bloody rampage at Robb Elementary School in the town of Uvalde, Texas, US. The motive of the shooting is yet to be established.

US President Joe Biden has ordered flags to be flown at half-mast until May 28 in observance of the tragedy.
