The National Unity Platform (NUP) has unveiled the construction site for its new headquarters this afternoon. The party is set to kick off construction in Makerere-Kavule, Kawempe division.

The party president, Bobi Wine, real name Robert Kyagulanyi, was the guest of honor during the groundbreaking ceremony. Other party leaders and members of Parliament also attended the event.

According to the party spokesperson, Joel Ssenyonyi, they will shift from their Kamwokya-based office, which he says is relatively small.

“Over time, we have realized that Kamwokya has become too small for us. As a political party, we have grown and continue to grow, “Ssenyonyi said.

He added, “Many times when we want to have big functions, we inconvenience our party president to allow us to use his compound because he has an expansive compound.”

Previously, NUP was called the National Unity, Reconciliation and Development Party but in 2020 it was rebranded and unveiled by Bobi Wine at Kamwokya.

In just 10 days, the party will be celebrating two years.
