I want to do a collaboration with a female Ugandan musician, says Tiwa Savage

Nigerian Afro-beats singer, Dr. Tiwa Savage is in Uganda for a performance slated for today at the Lugogo Cricket Oval alongside an all-female line-up of acts.

Speaking during her press conference yesterday at Sheraton Hotel Kampala, Tiwa expressed her desire to do a song with a Ugandan female musician.

Tiwa did not disclose who exactly she wants to collaborate with but promised to closely watch all the acts that will perform at her show.

“I’m going to make sure I come out early so that I see every female performer. I also want to do a collaboration with a female Ugandan musician, “said Tiwa.

Known for being passionate about the plight of underprivileged girls and women, the award-winning singer urged women not to allow their gender to limit their attaining utmost best in life.

The Tiwa Live in Kampala concert will be held under the theme, “Who Runs The World?” and will feature performances by Winnie Nwagi, Cindy Sanyu, Vinka, Karole Kasita, Sandra Nansambu, Lamu, Laika, Jowi Landa, Sandra Suubi, and DJs Zato and Alisha.

The Queen of Afrobeats is in Uganda for the second time, following her 2015 Women’s Day concert at the Kati-Kati grounds in Lugogo.  

 “I’m very excited to be back in Uganda. My last trip here was filled with so much love and positive energy and I just had to do this beautiful nation justice once again. It’s also another opportunity to follow up on some personal charity projects that are very close to my heart,” she said.
