We shall continue using the cameras to take action on traffic violators and update you accordingly,” said Nampiima.

According to Nampiima, from August 1st to August 6th, 2022, 314 traffic crashes occurred, and of these, 55 were fatal, 149 were serious, and 110 were minor.

She explained that the highest contributors to these crashes are motorcyclists and PSVs.

“The major cause of these crashes was reckless driving. My friends with Subarus and SUVs, the speed limit in this country is 100km/h. Nothing beyond that, and on that note, for cars, motorcycles, and jeeps in built-up areas, the speed limit is 50 km/h, on a paved road 100 km/h, and on Marram road 80 km/h, “she said.
