“I deserve the right to enter a club for free,” Winnie Nwagi laments after being bounced out of a night spot

Swangz Avenue’s singer, Winfred Nakanwagi alias Winnie Nwagi, has come out and condemned the habit of nightlife spot owners who charge artists entrance fees, saying it is not right.

According to Nwagi, over the weekend she was bounced out of the Kisementi-based night spot, Club Illusion, for failure to pay an entrance fee.

The self-proclaimed “Fire Baby” narrated that in the company of a few friends, Club Illusion’s bouncers failed to listen to their pleas and pushed them out of the place.

“An artist deserves the right to come into a club to enter for free, When you see Fire Babe coming with her friends, let her enter, ” said Nwagi.

Nwagi believes that she deserved free entry and a warm welcome with her friends. After all, she contributes a lot to such clubs as they play her music for free as a way of entertaining their customers.

The singer says she is aware that the club owners have bills to clear so as to sustain the happening spot, but they should stop disrespecting artists who compose the music they play to entertain their customers by asking them for entrance fees.

She further asked night spots bouncers and other workers to also start respecting artists by not bouncing them.

“And you club bouncers or waitresses, act smart when you see a celebrity. Even if your boss has given you an order, please don’t shame artists because they play a big role in entertaining your customers,” she said.
