Range Rover Sport burns to ashes along the Kampala-Masaka highway

Traffic police at Kayabwe have this morning, registered an incident of fire at Jandira Kayabwe Town Council in Mpigi district along the Kampala-Masaka highway.

A motor vehicle with the registration number UAS 066Q Range Rover Sport caught fire at about 8:40 in the morning.

Emorut Joshua Egweu, a resident of Mutungo in Kampala’s Nakawa division, was the driver of the car. He was heading in the direction of Masaka.

The car allegedly developed a mechanical issue, causing the engine to start fuming smoke.

“This prompted the driver to park off the road upon being alerted by other motorists. Efforts by the locals to put out the fire went futile, and the car burnt to ashes,” said the police.
