Unknown assailants have attacked Nakulabye Police Station. The incident happened this morning at around 4 a.m.

According to the police, one of the officers on duty spotted an unidentified armed person approaching the station.

“The officer immediately discharged bullets towards the alleged attacker forcing him to flee, abandoning an AK47 Magazine with 5 rounds of ammunition,” said the police.

“A team of investigators with the help of canines followed the direction the attacker took but unfortunately, they could not successfully trace them,” it added.

The investigation has begun, according to police, who are using CCTV cameras to try to identify the attacker and their movements.

In just a month, there have been four attacks on security officers. Armed thugs attacked a police station in Busiika on October 31; they killed two officers and injured two more. They also robbed two guns.

Last Monday, armed men opened fire on a police station in Kyanja; nobody was hurt, and no weapons were taken.

The same week, robbers took two guns after killing a UPDF soldier guarding the Gaddafi Barracks entry checkpoint.

Earlier this week, unidentified thugs attacked a security guard working for GKO Security Company and disappeared with a gun.
