Supporters of Bobi Wine, real name is Robert Kyagulanyi, and his National Unity Platform (NUP) party have long been accused of abusing public servants and anyone who does not share their political views.

Betty Nambooze, a NUP member and member of parliament for Mukono Municipality, has acknowledged that some of their supporters are abusive and has given an explanation.

Nambooze claims that the aggressive language used by NUP supporters is because they have endured “hell” under the rule of the NRM.

According to Nambooze, speaking aggressively is the only way to criticize the current government.

“For they use a civilized way to handle the unfair policies of this government. When the current government felt like they had been cheated, they went into the bush and several lives were lost,” said Nambooze.

The legislator asserted that the Museveni regime has destroyed the hopes of the current generation of youth, forcing them to look for any available means to try and overthrow the regime.
