Uganda’s Dj Lito becomes first deejay from East Africa to win AFRIMA’s Best African Deejay award

Ronald Ssekitooleko alias Dj Lito, a Ugandan deejay, made history by winning the Best African Deejay award at the All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA awards).

The Ugandan DJ was announced the winner at the AFRIMA ceremony, which was held on Sunday night at the 15,000-seat Dakar Arena in Dakar.

Dj Lito got the highest number of votes in the “Best African DJ” category, which also had DJ P2N from DRC, DJ Snake from Algeria, DJ Sky King from Ghana, and DJ Yessenia from Namibia, among others.

“I want to thank my fellow Ugandans for the overwhelming support and votes,” said Dj Lito after receiving the ward.

He dedicated the award to the deejays fraternity in Uganda.

Dj Lito becomes the first East African deejay to win AFRIMA’s Best African DJ award.

Meanwhile, Ugandan musicians Eddy Kenzo, Spice Diana, King Saha, and Bebe Cool were all nominated for the 2022 edition of the AFRIMA, but they did not win.
