Events promoter Abbey Musinguzi, alias Abtex, has questioned why Freedom City tycoon John Ssebalamu, is yet to be arrested.

On Tuesday, Abitex was charged afresh with four more counts in relation to a stampede at his event in Freedom City that left 11 people dead.

Abitex, who is charged alongside his MC Juuko Francis Elvis, questioned why the Freedom City tycoon, who he claims had the keys, is still at large.

“Why is it only me and the MC facing these charges, yet the tycoon had the keys and his premises organized the fireworks,” he said.

The embattled promoter maintains he is innocent and not to blame for the demise at Freedom City but rather the venue owner and management.

Similarly, Abitex’s lawyer Erias Lukwago said,

“Abitex and his friend have been charged with negligence; however, it is unfair because there were other parties involved, including the police, the owner of the venue, and the team in charge of the fireworks.”

Meanwhile, Abitex and the MC were granted cash bail of Sh2 million each and non-cash bail of Sh20 million for sureties.
