The normally silent Twitter account of Kawempe North legislator Kazibwe Bashir Mbazira came to life on Tuesday, accusing his party members of actively working with the ruling government.

Kazibwe Bashir’s account laid out a case accusing the National Unity Platform (NUP) president Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu alias Bobi Wine and several other important party members of being nothing more than government projects in a series of harsh threads.

Additionally, the Twitter account claimed that his fellow lawmakers Allan Ssewanyana and Muhammad Ssegirinya were in trouble as a result of a failed deal they made with President Museveni’s National Resistance Movement.

But after several threads, MP Kazibwe—who had been quiet for a while—reemerged and made a video of himself in which he claimed that his account had been hacked.

“Please disregard whatever you see on that account, the opinions there are not mine and I do not have control over the account ever since it was hacked last night,” he said.

He claimed that his team is putting in nonstop effort to revive the account and retake control of it. He acknowledged that he had fully reclaimed control of his account several hours later.

Joel Ssenyonyi speaks out

In an appearance on NBS TV last evening, National Unity Platform (NUP) party spokesperson Joel Ssenyonyi made a comment regarding the matter.

Ssenyonyi said that Kazibwe phoned him and told him that his account had been hacked.

“I advised him on what to do, and I think the issue was handled,” he said.
