Court in Kanungu District has fined Kanungu FM station manager, Nelson Twinamatsiko Shs200, 000, or serve an eight-month jail sentence after he pleaded guilty to charges of assault and occasioning actual bodily harm to his workmate

Earlier this month, Twinamatsiko was captured in a video assaulting Anita Tumuramye, a female presenter at the station.

Anita Tumuramye claimed that Twinamatsiko assaulted her when she demanded payment for a school advert she brought to the radio station.

The Kanungu grade one magistrate, Asanasio Mukobi on Wednesday read his decision after Twinamatsiko pleaded guilty to the offence and asked for a lenient sentence.

“Since the accused person has pleaded guilty to the offence and has not wasted court’s time, he is sentenced to a fine of Shs200,000, in default serve a jail term of eight months,” Mukobi ruled.
