Uganda’s Jacob Kiplimo has won the men’s senior race at the 2023 World Athletics Cross Country Championships in Bathurst, Australia.

Kiplimo, who won two gold medals in the 5000m and 10,000m races, respectively, at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, has become the second Ugandan to win gold in the men’s senior category at the IAAF World Cross Country Championship.

Cheptegei was the first Ugandan to win gold. He did it in 2019 in Aarhus, Denmark.
