With an elevation of 5,895 meters, Mount Kilimanjaro stands as the highestsnowcapped mountain in Africa and the highest single freestanding mountain above the sea level in the world.  Located in the eastern subregion of Africa, the mountain also stands as the highest volcano in Africa and also the fourth most topographically prominent peak on Earth.  

Mountain Kilimanjaro is made up of three volcanic cones such as Kibo (dormant) which is the highest at 5,895 meters, followed by Mawenzi (dormant) and Shira (extinct). Protected by Kilimanjaro national park, there are several activities to be done around the iconic mountain aside hiking experience and among these include bird watching, wildlife viewing, nature walking and others. Named after theRepublic of Kenya, the mountain is found in the former Eastern and Central provinces of the country and it features several peaks at different attitudes. Among the peaks include Bastian at (5,199 meters) which is the highest followed by Nelion (5,188 meters) and then point Lenana (4,985 meters). The highest peak of the mountain is located in the intersection of Meru, Embu, Kirinyanga, Nyeri and Tharaka Nithi counties just about 16.5 kilometers south of the equator, around 150 kilometer north – northeast of the capital, Nairobi. 

The snowcapped mountain is protected by Mount Kenya national park thus providing you with other opportunities of other activities besides mountain climbing and hiking. Among these experiences include game viewing, bird watching, nature walking and many others. 

Mount Rwenzori, Margherita peak at 5,109 meters in Uganda and Congo

The famous Margherita Peak found in Rwenzori Mountains National park that is located on the border of Uganda & Democratic Republic of Congo.
