The state minister for finance, Amos Lugoloobi has been granted a cash bail of Shs10 million by the Anti-Corruption Court in Kololo.

His six sureties were asked Shs100 million non-cash each. The Minister has been cautioned against interfering with prosecution witnesses and leaving the country without permission.

The minister was arrested and charged over the alleged diversion of iron sheets meant for vulnerable persons in Karamoja.

The Ntenjeru North MP is one of the three ministers who have so far been charged in court over the scandal.

Karamoja Affairs minister Mary Goretti Kitutu was the first to face court and charged. Her junior minister Agnes Nandutu was on Wednesday charged and committed to High Court for trial on charges of dealing with suspect property.

She was remanded to Luzira Prison until May 3, 2023, when she’s expected to appear before the court for mention of her case.
