My brother had 28 bullets in his body– Sam Engola

Former minister Sam Engola, the brother of slain minister, Col Charles Okello Engola Macodwogo has revealed that the postmortem report of the deceased minister showed that he was “showered” with bullets.

The former State Minister for Labour, Employment, and Industrial Relations, Charles Engola, was gunned down on May 2, 2023, by his bodyguard Wilson Sabiiti who in turn shot himself.

Speaking at the minister’s funeral service held at Kololo Ceremonial Grounds in Kampala on Wednesday, Sam Engola revealed that his brother had 28 bullets in his body.

“My brother (slain minister, Col Charles Okello Engola) had 28 bullets in his body,” said Sam Engola.

Meanwhile, the family of the late minister forgave Private Wilson Sabiiti who fatally shot their father.

“As the children of the late, we acknowledge that part of the family is working to seek justice for our father, we take this opportunity to forgive Private Sabiiti. May his family find rest,” said Samuel Engola, one of the late minister’s children.

The late minister will be laid to rest on Saturday at their ancestral home in Oyam.
