The Ministry of Internal Affairs has witnessed a sudden surge in the number of Ugandans seeking DNA services.

Simon Mundeyi, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Internal Affairs, confirmed the unexpected influx, revealing that last week alone, they catered to over 50 people desperately seeking DNA services.

Mundeyi stated that most of the applicants thronging the government Analytical Laboratory (GAL) in Wandegeya are men aiming to verify the paternity of their children.

This growing trend has gained momentum following recent headlines surrounding renowned tycoon Michael Kasawuli alias Samona. Samona’s DNA test results shook the nation, indicating that 10 out of his reported 25 children did not biologically belong to him.

Adding to the paternity drama, the Chief Magistrates Court in Mukono recently ordered controversial lawyer Male Mabirizi and his siblings to undergo a DNA paternity test. This decision was prompted by Mabirizi’s request, as his late father’s mistress, Nalutaaya Stella, presented a will that purportedly excluded the lawyer from being recognized as one of the deceased’s children.

As Ugandans anxiously seek answers to their paternity mysteries, the Ministry of Internal Affairs finds itself at the epicenter of this unexpected DNA frenzy.
