Doctor Kizza Besigye has shared his stance on paternity DNA testing, revealing that he would never conduct such tests on any child.

According to Besigye, he firmly believes that all children are God’s children, emphasizing the importance of preserving the sanctity of the family institution.

During his appearance on NBS Morning Breeze, Besigye expressed concern about the growing trend of DNA testing, stating that it poses a threat to the concept of family.

He explained, “I would never do DNA on any child because I believe all children are God’s children, and parents are merely vessels entrusted with bringing them into the world.”

Besigye further elaborated on his perspective, stating, “Every child is your child. If you encounter a child in need or distress, you have a responsibility to care for them as if they were your own.”

His comments come at a time when DNA analysis has become increasingly popular among families across the nation seeking to determine biological parentage.

On Monday, the Ministry of Health announced that only two laboratories in the country, namely MBN Lab located along Nakasero Road and the government diagnostics laboratory in Butabika, are authorized to conduct paternity DNA testing. This decision aims to regulate the process and ensure accuracy and reliability in the results obtained.
