Uganda Men’s National Basketball Team, Silverbacks, will not participate in the 2024 Paris Olympics Qualifiers.

Initially placed in Group A of the Olympic Pre-qualifying tournament, the Silverbacks have been forced to withdraw due to financial limitations faced by the Federation of Uganda Basketball Association (FUBA).

FUBA says that they have not received the necessary funding from the Government, the National Council of Sports to be specific, to facilitate the team’s participation in the tournament taking place in Lagos, Nigeria, which commenced on Monday, August 14.
