The National Unity Platform (NUP) Party president, Robert Kyagulanyi alias Bobi Wine has said that their ongoing nationwide mobilization campaigns remain largely unobstructed by security forces due to their involvement in dragging several senior officials to the International Criminal Court (ICC).

Bobi Wine revealed that they filed more than 100 affidavits and he believes that the legal move has prompted a more cautious stance from the authorities.

During an appearance on NTV this morning, Bobi Wine remarked, “You’ve noticed recently that we’ve taken Museveni and those around him to the international court. Perhaps they have decided to behave this time around during our countrywide tour to avoid the ICC.”

Bobi Wine and the NUP party embarked on their campaign journey starting in Mbarara on Monday. The subsequent stop in Fort Portal saw Bobi Wine rallying locals to join the movement for change, emphasizing the potential to elevate their city into a prominent tourism hub for Africa.

Today, Bobi Wine and his party leaders are en route to Kasese, continuing their countrywide tour that serves as a call for Ugandans to awaken and shape their collective destiny.

“It’s not solely about Kyagulanyi,” Bobi Wine stressed, highlighting the broader objective of the campaign.

Addressing questions about funding, he explained, “This extensive tour doesn’t demand substantial funds. Our primary requirement is fuel for a limited number of vehicles. Other car drivers, who are also NUP members and MPs, cover their own fuel expenses. At times, the generosity of people at gas stations even covers some of our refuelling costs.”
