With the third round of the quarterly Katogo Golf Series approaching at Entebbe Golf Club on September 30, title sponsors I&M Bank are happy to have more partners join them on this satisfying journey of discovery of bettering the game of golf in Uganda.

The series has been on the receiving end of a number of juicy sponsorship packages since teeing off in April, with the first round that was followed by another in June.

And today (Wednesday, September 6), morning, I&M Bank Uganda has unveiled a set of three more sponsors to the now fast-growing tournament.

All the respective sponsors have committed and made competitive packages, with the aim of enhancing the golfing event’s reputation.

Sam Ntulume, Acting Managing Director I&M Bank addresses the media during a press conference to announce new sponsors for the Katogo Golf Series. The new new sponsors include Merca Limited, GA Insurance, and Rwanda Air. The next edition of the series is slated for September 30.

“As anchor sponsors, we have worked day and night to give the Katogo Golf Series the befitting standards it deserves. The partnership has yielded amazing success, but we are aware that we can elevate the experience to a whole new level through strategic partnerships, like the ones we’re unveiling today. We are excited to welcome our new partners; Merca Limited, GA Insurance, and Rwanda Air; I want to assure them that they could not have made a better choice,” said Acting I&M Bank Managing Director Sam Ntulume.

Merca Limited are the distributors of the brand-new Renault vehicles in Uganda, and have offered a brand-new Renault car for the Hole-In-One prize. This gives a grand opportunity to a lucky golfer that shall sink the hole-in-one a golden chance to walk away with a state-of-the-art Renault vehicle.

GA Insurance also joins the party as the insurer for the hole-in-one prize. They will be providing the insurance cover for the hole-in-one prize, hence offering a guarantee that the winner shall receive their prize free of any scenarios that would present any potential additional costs.

Entebbe Golf Club Captain- Walusimbi Serwano addresses the media during a press conference to announce new sponsors for the Katogo Golf Series, on Wednesday, September 6th.

Addressing the media, Francis Kamau, the CEO & Principal Officer at GA Insurance Uganda Limited, gave his assurance about their commitment to deliver the Hole-In-One prize without any encumbrances.

“We are delighted to be part of the amazing Katogo Golf series! Our commitment is to offer the Hole-In-One car prize insurance cover, so that the lucky winner will have the remarkable opportunity to drive away their brand-new Renault, completely free of any additional costs,” he said.

Rwanda Air also joins the list of new sponsors with a pledge to avail tickets worth USD 2,000, to the select prize destinations.

In a nutshell, the Series now has an admirable line up of sponsors any tournament would dream of.

“This is a very big step in tournament organisation and we thank the new sponsors for trusting and choosing the I&M Katogo Series Golf to partner with. We look forward to a very lively and fun packed tournament. We invite all golfers to come to come and enjoy with us come September 30th, at the Entebbe Club,” said Hannington Mpiima, the Captain of the Katogo Golf Series.

The Katogo Golf Series is evidence that sport and corporate entities can achieve a lot together. The annual event has continued to grow in strength and numbers since April and by the time it concludes for the 2023 Season in December, the journey will leave both the sponsors, and golfers in a better place.
