Tensions flared in the Wakiso district council meeting as NUP (National Unity Platform) councilor Robert Segawa unleashed his anger on fellow party councilors, accusing them of aligning with the ruling government and betraying their party’s interests.

A video that has gone viral on social media captures the intense moment when Segawa addressed a council meeting comprised solely of NUP members before his outburst against his party colleagues. In the video, Segawa appears visibly furious as he criticizes his colleagues for what he perceives as their betrayal of the NUP cause.

Segawa accused the councilors of turning their backs on their party leader, Bobi Wine, political prisoners, and the ongoing struggle aimed at removing President Yoweri Museveni from power.

“Because of Bobi Wine’s influence, we were elected. Many of our supporters lost their lives, but you are here betraying them,” Segawa yelled before randomly caning some councilors.

The video captures the tense atmosphere in the room as some councilors rushed out in an attempt to avoid the canes, while others confronted Segawa, imploring him not to resort to violence.
