Police in Kitgum district have launched a manhunt for Ochira Siliman, who is accused of murdering Ocakacon Ben, a 54-year-old lover of his mother and a resident of Jenga village. The incident happened on October 31 at around 9 pm.

According to Police Spokesperson Fred Enanga, the accused, Ochira, took matters into his own hands when he discovered Ben in a compromising situation with his mother, Aloch Filder, in a potato garden near their home.

Ochira allegedly attacked Ben, striking him with a stick, leading to his (Ben) immediate death. The suspect left Ben’s lifeless body abandoned in the garden.

The victim’s body was later transported to Kitgum General Hospital for a post-mortem examination and subsequently handed over to the family.

“We strongly condemn such acts of elderly abuse by children. The son whose actions were premeditated kept spying on his mother and attacked his lover with a huge stick. He was rife with rage and anger. Efforts are now in place to trace the whereabouts of the suspect and bring him to book,” said Enanga.
